【Notification】Discontinuation of “Shizen Renewable Denki” Services
Thank you for your patronage of Shizen Energy’s renewable energy retail service, “Shizen Renewable Denki. “
With the aim to realize a world with 100% renewable energy, Shizen Energy has been striving to provide our customers with renewable energy electricity. However, due to the chronic high prices in the wholesale electricity market since October 2021, as well as the recent international energy market turmoil and its future uncertainty, we have decided to discontinue our renewable energy retail service, “Shizen Renewable Denki”.
Shizen Energy launched “Shizen Renewable Denki” in 2017 with the following aspirations:
- We wanted people to know that there is an option to choose renewable energy for the electricity that we use everyday.
- By increasing opportunities to use renewable energy, we wanted to create a trend to increase electricity derived from renewable energy sources.
We have been continuing our efforts to provide a renewable energy retail service that can be used in homes and offices, but in response to rapid changes in the external environment, we have come to the conclusion that it is difficult to continue providing the same price range and value-added services as in the past.
We sincerely apologize to our “Shizen Renewable Denki ” customers for the discontinuation of our services. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who have supported Shizen Energy through “Shizen Renewable Denki.”
Looking ahead, Shizen Energy intends to focus on building and increasing the number of renewable energy power plants in Japan and abroad, given the current shortage of renewable energy sources around the world. We will strive to achieve this by utilizing the Shizen Energy Group’s development capabilities that we have cultivated over the years. We believe that this is the most effective way for us to contribute to the expansion of renewable energy.
<To “Shizen Renewable Denki” customers>
As previously announced to our “Shizen Renewable Denki” customers, the supply of electricity will end on November 30, 2022. We have also stopped accepting new applications.
We have also requested our customers to switch to a different electricity provider by November 30, 2022. Please refer to the email that has been sent out to our customers and “my page” for the necessary information to apply for a new electricity provider.

It will not be necessary for customers to notify Shizen Energy regarding the switchover. (The new electricity provider will perform the procedures for terminating your contract with Shizen Renewable Denki)
