juwi Shizen Energy Completed 15MW Solar Power Plant “Kikuchi Shisui Solar Park” in Kumamoto Prefecture

2020.12.01[Notificação]
  • On 30th September 2020, juwi Shizen Energy Inc. completed the handover of the “Kikuchi Shisui Solar Park”, an approximately 15 MWp(DC) solar power plant in Shisui, Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

The power plant was developed by Shizen Energy Inc. on a 200,000-square-meter site that used to be a chestnut orchard for tourism, with juwi Shizen Energy taking charge of EPC and juwi Shizen Energy Operation Inc. The annual output is expected to be approximately 17.50 million kWh/year, equivalent to the annual electrical power consumption of approximately 5,600 households (*).

juwi Shizen Energy managed the project in smaller parcels than usual and handed over each parcel to the next phase of civil engineering, install of solar module racking, and electrical work, reducing time loss and achieving early completion in a construction period of only 10 months. In addition, a control pond covering the entire basin area of the power plant was installed to prepare for heavy rainfall and sediment runoff.

In the future, Shizen Energy plans to contribute to the revitalization of the area where the power plant is located by returning a portion of the revenue from the plant to the community.
